Google

It looks like today's doodle is celebrating synthesizers, Zoog I think. Neat toy, but Google why did you allow the volume to go to 11?

DC why?

Ummm.....what? It's not going to be one of the big three. Batman is their cash cow, Supes is their history and Wonder-woman is too obvious. I'd say it's going to be Robin or Jimmy Olsen. They are close enough to matter, and won't mess with directly with the big three.. But why? They have had a number of gay heroes and villains. Hell, they had a cyborg and gorilla in a relationship.

Easter Frankenfood!!!

THIS MUST END!

Through independent research, I have discovered that genetically altered food is making its way into America's Easter baskets!    A certain candy company has altered innocent mammals and crossed them with birds and monotemes to make unholy abominations.

THIS MUST END!

To make it worse,  they have been doing this since the 60s! No labels.  No warnings. No regulations against it.

THIS MUST END!

You don't believe me?  Watch the video for proof hhttp://youtu.be/Yw_gEyg7Nt8

To make it worse they even sell them on Amazon

St. Patrick's Day Special!

Happy St. Patrick's Day one and all! I have a 'mostly' exclusive video form a friend and a special beverage for today, but first my spleen needs to vent a bit.

A buddy of my at work gave me a ad from yesterday's New York Post for a St Patrick's Party pass. Wow, is this what people want? The worlds first leprechaun wedding? A green beer chug? The drunkest leprechaun in America? Thank New York for showing what you think of Irish Americans!

Now for that true Irish drink & this one isn't out of Mr. Boston.

Whiskey (Neat) (Photo will be added later)

4 oz of Irish Whiskey (The Knot)

Pour into a rocks glass and enjoy.

Next up a special video by my good friend Moe Lane of MoeLane.com!

Now I'm going to watch The Quiet Man and enjoy my drink. Happy St. Patrick's Day & don't forget to click my new share buttons.

#38 Batchlor's Bait Cocktail

After a nice day I think I'll have a drink, so what's next.   Oh,,,,,,I've been dreading this one.  Why do you ask?  It contains raw egg. Yup and does anyone blame me?  But here goes!

Batchlor's Bait Cocktail

1.5 oz Dry Gin (Bombay Sapphire)
White of one egg (Large white)
1 Dash Orange Bitters
1/2 Teaspoon of Grenadine

Shake well with cracked ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

Wow....it's sure pretty.  I can imagine sending a man sending this over to a lady to get her attention. As for the taste, it's just another Gin and Orange Bitters drink.  All flash and no bang.

#36 Babbie's Special Cocktail

Ah March is upon us, with it's un-lion like weather. Looking forward, I see St Patrick's day, Daylight savings time, Pi day, and spring....more on those later. Also I challenged another blogger in my last drink and have gotten no answer, perhaps I should be more direct. Any advice out there?

Now on to the drink.

Babbie's Special Cocktail

1/2 oz Sweet Cream (Half and half)
1 1/2 oz Apricot Flavored Brandy (Jaquin's)
1/4 oz Gin (Bombay Sapphire)

Shake with ice and strain.

Looks creamy with a hint of pink. The flavors mix well and it's quite enjoyable. I recommend it.

Coming Soon: John Carter!

Next week John Carter hits the theaters, and from what I've seen it should be good.   I've read one of the books about ten years ago, so I shouldn't be to nit-picky about the story but I've never been a fan of planetary romance fiction.    I won't post any of the trailers, if you want to see one then check you tube.

My thoughts on the trailers though,  and here I nitpick,  shouldn't Dejah have reddish skin and didn't John being from Virginia have an accent?

Anyway  look at the price Amazon
has for one of the books. Outrageous!

#20 American Grog!

Fabled beverage of song and story! Favorite of pirates and scallywags.   From what I've heard it actually was an attempt to make the rum aboard a ship unpalatable. I don't know if that's the truth but here it is

American Grog

1 Lump of sugar
Juice of 1/4 lemon
1.5 oz of Rum (Ronrico)

Fill hot whiskey glass with hot water and stir.

Not bad,  needs a bit more sugar or a different rum.   If I had the flu, this would be good.

Now I remember a certain blogger that sang about grog in his younger days, maybe he'll do a You Tube video for tonight's drink.........

Oh and hit my Amazon Link and shop, I get a kickback. :)

No. 11-Alaska Cocktail

It's been a while but hey if I had more readers (or more people using my amazon links) I'd post more often. Now on to to the cocktail....
North of the Great White North, the last wilderness......
This cocktail probably has nothing to with our 49th state but the Chartreuse may evoke the gold rush, I don't know.

Alaska Cocktail

2 dashes of Orange Bitters
1 1/2 oz of Gin (Bombay Sapphire)
3/4 oz of Yellow Chartreuse

Stir well with cracked ice and strain into a 3oz glass.

No photo today due to technical issues, but the taste is kind of medicinal.   Maybe I put in too much bitters or I'm not use to the taste of Chartreuse  but no Sir I don't like it.
